May the 80's Live On

Doesn't it just make you want to break out and sing Olivia Newton John's hit "Let's get Physical"??? If you were a child of the 80's you just might be humming it right now.
You are also a child of the 80's if:
  • You remember when Jordache jeans were cool.
  • You wore an Izod shirt with the collar up
  • You know the words to many of Weird Al Yankovic songs
  • You played Atari and thought it was cool
  • A predominant color in your junior high photos is neon
  • You and your school friends discussed plans to get together again at the end of the century and listen to Prince's 1999
  • You rode in the back of a station wagon and you faced the cars behind you.
  • You rode a Big Wheel as a kid and may have upgraded to the Green Machine
  • The phrase "where's the beef" still makes you smile
  • You had a front row seat for Luke and Laura's wedding on General Hospital
  • You know who shot JR.
  • the phrase"...and my name is Charlie, they work for me." rings a bell.
  • You know all the words to Grease.
  • You may have had a Dorothy Hammill haircut as a kid.
  • You dialed 867-5309 to see if Jenny was there
  • You owned a shirt with a rainbow across the front and down the sleeve and it didn't mean you were gay.
  • You remember when there was only PG and R
  • You remember Bo and Luke Duke
  • You remember when a VCR cost $2,000
  • You used a rotary telephone
  • "Believe it or not..." You sing along to the Greatest American Hero
  • David Lee Roth was the lead singer of Van Halen
  • Schoolhouse Rock played a HUGE part in how you actually learned the English Language.
  • Knickers and Leg warmers were cool
  • You think of "Jaws" when you swim in the Ocean.
  • You can use "kiss mah grits" in conversation
  • You can sing "99 Red Balloons" in English AND German
  • You were proud of your feathered hair.
  • You ever wanted to be gagged with a spoon
  • You had a "Members Only" jacket and you would only wear it with the sleeves pushed up to your elbows.
  • You owned a pair of jelly shoes and sported many blisters because of them
  • the jump from 8-tracks to cassette tapes was a technological revolution
  • you would dub a tape for your girl/boy friend
  • you would pike your pants (our version of the skinny jean)
  • your socks were the exact same color as your shirt at all times
  • you owned a pair of stirups and they were your pants.
  • two words--BIG HAIR

feel free to add some of your own memories....

You had a necklace made of paperclips and you wore 30-50 plastic bracelets on your wrists at a time.

Atari was, and continues to be cool. Courderoy green neon Ocean Pacific shorts. Half shirts. Mullets. Roller Skating. Pink Izod shirts.

Can I say how impressed I am that you can get your leg so high. Just like the flexibility you had back then...

I haven't thought of stirrup pants in a while! I am sure I wore some in college. Yikes. I - like Ingrid- am also very impressed with that 80's flexibility you have! How about parachute pants??
